G. Curtis "Curt" Gibby is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and former Navy SEAL who served in Vietnam on three different occasions. First, as Training and Special Equipment Officer on a joint Special Warfare staff in Vietnam engaged in operations planning and training of indigenous forces in commando and high speed patrol craft operations. On a second SEAL assignment in Vietnam he served concurrently as SEAL Task Group Commander and SEAL Operations Officer on a Navy staff in Vietnam. As a deck officer and navigator of an Amphibious Assault Transport he operated on coast of Vietnam as well as all over the Western Pacific. He served as Maintenance and Material Officer for Special Warfare Group ATLANTIC

He has held TOP SECRET clearances while in the service, and SECRET clearances in industry.

Developer and leader of a monthly seminar at a local community college, about to enter its 5th year. This was started to satisfy a strong continuing interest in world events and matters such as technology, economics and politics as drivers that will shape the world of the future. The Seminars work is based on the CIA's "Global Trends 2015"  and this year; "Commanding Heights" by Daniel Yergin.

Responsible for the marketing and sales of custom engineered and manufactured mooring equipment to the offshore drilling and construction companies.

Marketing and sales of custom engineered mooring equipment. First SCR controlled automatic mooring winches on the Great Lakes. Development of a Traction Towing Winch for use on Navy Fleet Tugs.

United States Navy - 1961-1971
Prior to 1971, he was a Naval Officer, with special warfare qualifications (SEAL) with service in various special warfare and conventional warfare billets.

●    Exercise EXOTIC DANCER III - Unconventional Warfare Specialist on Commander Second Fleet Staff (Temporary additional duty as), then seconded to staff of Commanding General, XVIII Airborne Corps for land phase of operation.

●    Commander Naval Special Warfare Group ATLANTIC Staff. Material Officer (N-4). Responsible for equipment readiness for five subordinate commands (SEAL 2, USTs 21 & 22, Beach Jumper Unit 2 and Boat Support Unit 2). Required close coordination with NAVSEA, NAVFAC and NAVOP. Also participated in and contributed to major reorganizational work of Special Warfare Group.

●    Commanded SEAL Forces in Vietnam delta as SEAL TASK GROUP COMMANDER, Operational Command of five SEAL Task Units, Concurrently SEAL Operations Officer on CTF 116 Staff and Administrative Command of SEAL Detachment ALFA, Binh Thuy, Vietnam '68 - '69.

●    USS CAVALIER (APA-37) - Boat Group Commander, Navigator, '66 - '68. Responsible for Boat Group Department men, landing craft and equipment. Tactical control of landing craft during amphibious assault operations. Joint amphibious training operations in the Pacific Area with Koreans and Taiwanese. Coastal Operations in Vietnam.

●    MACVSOG - U.S. Naval Advisory Detachment, Danang, Vietnam (Joint Staff), Training and R&D officer. Training and operations planning for indigenous forces in commando and high speed patrol craft tactics. '65 - '66.

●    Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Training (SERE), FAETUPAC Hawaii.

●    Exercise OPERATION STEEL PIKE I, Rota, Spain (Largest military operation since WWII)- OinC UDT Detachment. Operational Command of US Navy UDT's combined with Spanish Marine Corps Commando Team. Responsible for Hydrographic Reconnaissance to locate causeway and support of Beachmaster and Shore Party providing salvage assistance and lifeguard services. Member of CINCLANTFLT/CGFMFLANT Planning Mission to Spanish Marine Corps Headquarters.

●    Combat Embarkation Course, Landing Force Training Unit, Little Creek.

●    Operations Officer - Underwater Demolition Team TWENTY-ONE, Little Creek.

●    Jungle Warfare School, Fort Sherman, C.Z.

●    Panama Riots - OinC UDT Detachment in EARLE B. HALL (APD-107), CARIB 1-64 Caribbean Amphibious Ready Squadron, Called in as part of contingency forces after the riots. Conducted beach reconnaissance operations in case an amphibious assault might become necessary.

●    UDT Platoon Commander, UDT-21, Little Creek.

●    Beach Intelligence Course. U.S. Naval Amphibious School, Little Creek.

●    Graduated Underwater Demolition Team Training - 1963, Hydrographic Reconnaissance, SCUBA, Demolitions, Parachuting.

●    Cuban Crisis - in USS SUFFOLK COUNTY (LST 1173), Assistant First Lieutenant, Gunnery Officer, Communications Officer. Also Solant AMITY III goodwill cruise to Africa.
